Specialist interior construction for the healthcare sector

A hospital, nursing home, waiting room or doctor’s/dentist’s office – they are all tailor-made and unique. We specialise in customised work for this sector and provide advice about the design and construction of comfortable interiors for care institutions while paying attention to retaining the ability to deliver practical care, all while still making use of high-quality, innovative materials.

Setting up an institution like this is a discipline in its own right. The trick is to start from the well-being of the patient and combine that with the creation of spaces and workplaces in which care providers can feel comfortable. A good combination between an aesthetically-pleasing interior with functionality and ergonomics is a very important starting point. The interior is always custom-designed, completely handmade, and finished in our factory.

Specialist

Keijsers Interiors, co-creator of Interior Group, is often invited to think about the ergonomics and hygiene requirements for specific projects. Working with the architect, we get together at an early stage to brainstorm the choices of materials and fabrics that will fit the character and requirements of the project. Sustainable, innovative solutions that combine to create a better living environment and increases well-being. Our engineers advise on all the different hygienic connections and materials suitable for treatment rooms. A good example of this specialism can be seen in the implementation of our project in the Holland Proton Therapy Center in Delft (Holland PTC).

Customised and (built-in) furniture

We developed and installed custom receptions, the interior of patient rooms, and the unique interior for the public areas. We were also responsible for the walls, catering facilities, sanitary facilities, libraries and quiet centres. In addition to supplying the interior construction, we also supplied seating furniture, tables and desks, beds and window coverings. Working with our creative partners, we can handle any project.

LEAN philosophy

We apply the LEAN philosophy to all our work. This means we focus on reducing unnecessary waste in terms of both materials and energy. This includes the reuse of water, heat recovery from air ventilation, and an intelligent application of heat and cooling. This led the Zaans Medical Centre to be Europe’s first LEAN hospital awarded the BREEAM-NL “Very Good” certificate in 2016.
