The impressive Boekenberg Library is a vital knowledge and information center for the residents of Spijkenisse. It is an exquisite patchwork of offices, warehouses, an auditorium, conference facilities and shops, all piled on top of each other. On the many terraces, you can find books, seating and meeting areas and exhibition space.

The interior of 'Book Mountain', which features 3,600 m2 of floor space, is primarily constructed from recycled plastic. The main challenge was to ensure the elements perfectly matched the structure of the building. The bookcases – which were designed and installed by Keijsers – fill every wall, including those of the stairwells, alcoves and counters.
